A bunch of writers I adore have gotten together to create The Writing Co-Lab, a writer-owned experimental cooperative school. Participating teachers receive most, if not the entirety, of their students' tuition, working with the Writing Co-Lab instead of for it. Writing Co-Lab is launching this month with a small number of classes spearheaded by founders Hannah Bae, Chris Gonzalez, Sara Lippmann, and Brian Gresko, and Amy Shearn (who was in the job board last week!) I’m running a memoir masterclass to celebrate the paperback release of THE YEAR OF THE HORSES on February 16! I’m just giddy that poet Joy Sullivan is hosting me at SUSTENANCE for a memoir masterclass two days after the paperback release of my memoir. If you are wondering how to write a memoir (rather than a diary), how to solve for time and structural issues, and/or how to put actual plot into your nonfiction project, this is the class for you. The Cabins is running a new June 2023 retreat! My nonprofit arts retreat The Cabins has teamed up with the writer Kasia Merrill to offer a long-weekend solo retreat to a Maryland-based woman artist or writer.
