This Friday’s job board is a cornucopia of offerings, so let us waste no time!
Subscriber Jasmine is looking for freelance and contract-writing positions in the health, wellness and beauty space. She’s written for Coveteur, Annex Mag, and various L.A. based publications, and she’s also finished her first nonfiction book which was 10 years in the making. She’d love to meet with writerly people to potentially exchange feedback. If you’d like to get in touch she’s at jas@jasminedesiree.com and her website is www.jasminedesiree.com
A bunch of writers I adore have gotten together to create The Writing Co-Lab, a writer-owned experimental cooperative school. Participating teachers receive most, if not the entirety, of their students' tuition, working with the Writing Co-Lab instead of for it. Writing Co-Lab is launching this month with a small number of classes spearheaded by founders Hannah Bae, Chris Gonzalez, Sara Lippmann, and Brian Gresko, and Amy Shearn (who was in the job board last week!) Learn more about this program and give it an Instagram follow @writing.colab
Writer and founder of the creative community center, The Resort, Catherina LaSota, has three coaching spots left that she’s gifting to several of our lucky subscribers. All you need to do is go to her Calendly link to nab your spot. Enjoy!
And finally, an online masterclass series I subscribe to called Noelle Floyd is looking for a podcast assistant. “Equestrian Voices” is an award-winning sports podcast with a dedicated community of listeners. They’re looking for a part time podcast intern or entry-level assistant to assist with operational needs. You can learn more about the position here.
I’m running a memoir masterclass to celebrate the paperback release of THE YEAR OF THE HORSES on February 16! I’m just giddy that poet Joy Sullivan is hosting me at SUSTENANCE for a memoir masterclass two days after the paperback release of my memoir. If you are wondering how to write a memoir (rather than a diary), how to solve for time and structural issues, and/or how to put actual plot into your nonfiction project, this is the class for you. It’s being held at 8pm ET and you can sign up here.
The Cabins is running a new June 2023 retreat! My nonprofit arts retreat The Cabins has teamed up with the writer Kasia Merrill to offer a long-weekend solo retreat to a Maryland-based woman artist or writer. Applications open February 1st until March 15th. It’s free to apply (and free to attend if you are given the residency). Share this news with your Maryland-based friends! All information is here.
That’s all for now! If you are hiring or looking to be hired, and you’re a paid subscriber, you can submit job news to thequerydoula@gmail.com (Subject line “Friday Job Board.”)
Until next time, have a great weekend, and thanks for being here.
This might have been answered in another thread, but will there be a recording of the masterclass if we can't make it live?
